AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF PHISHING WEBSITE

Abstract

Abstract: These days data security becomes major concern and website phishing is a big source to break data security for internet criminals. This paper proposes a solution for detection of phishing websites automatically by applying filter operation on each URL entered by user in the address bar of browser, it utilizing the characteristic of the hyperlink to distinguish between phishing websites and legitimate websites. Filtering is done in two stages. In first stage upcoming URL is compared with database of known phishing website URLs. In second stage characteristic of hyperlinks and raking of URLs is checked.
